This is Dali | Erkuai rice cake

At dawn, the fragrance of rice always blooms with the Erkuai cake in west Yunnan's Dali prefecture.

Hand-made from high-quality rice, the Erkuai cake carries a soft and glutinous texture with a hint of chewiness. Once grilled over charcoal fire, it will puff up slightly, exuding a rich and toasty aroma.

The patterns of flowers, birds, fish, dragons and others are carved onto the Erkuai rice cake. They not only delight the taste buds of visitors, but also offer a new understanding to Dali's ethnic culture.
