The number of crossings via Hekou border gate near the China-Vietnam border section in south Yunnan reached 6.4203 million, representing a year-on-year increase of 12%.

The volume of imported and exported goods via the same border gate amounted to 4.3152 million tons, up by 4.5%, according to the Hekou Border Inspection Station.

Located in south Yunnan’s Honghe Hani and Yi autonomous prefecture, Hekou connects with Lao Cai in north Vietnam.

The two places are linked up by the China-Vietnam Railway Bridge, the Nanxi River Highway Bridge, and the Honghe Highway Bridge.

As an easiest land gateway linking southwestern China with northern Vietnam and even the Indochina Peninsula, Hekou plays a crucial role in regional connectivity.
