Jacaranda is in full bloom recently at both sides of Mid-Jiaochang Road of Wuhua district in Kunming, capital of Yunnan province.

Jacaranda at Jiaochangzhong Road creates a unique site in Kunming. Not only the flowers turn bustling city lanes into romantic online popular spots, they also attract tourists to buy related cultural and creative products, injecting impetus to the flower economy.

Jacaranda was imported to this city by Kunming Institute of Botany of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1984 and has been thriving along Jiaochangzhong Road till today. Now more than 550 trees are blooming each year.

The flowering phase of jacaranda is about a month, lasting from the middle of April to that of May. Art festivals about jacaranda have been held since 2019, with thousands of tourists coming.
