Dai Kinnara dance popular in Pu’er

Originating from the image of the Dai people's divine bird, the Kinnara Dance remains popular in southwest Yunnan’s Pu'er city. It was once a ritual dance for Theravada Buddhist ceremonies in Dai villages.

In December 2022, the dance was listed as a provincial-level intangible cultural heritage of Yunnan, embodying its cultural significance.
