Pu'er old tea forests: Where man, nature thrive together

In September 2023, the Cultural Landscape of Old Tea Forests of Jingmai Mountain in southwest Yunnan's Pu'er city was listed as a World Heritage site. It is the first tea-themed cultural site of its kind globally.

For centuries, local communities have rationally used the mountainous areas around the ancient tea forest, creating a unique cultural landscape marked by the coexistence of the tea tree and other higher trees in the same forest.

Now some ancient tea trees serve as must-visit spots for tourists. Local tea farmers, whose livelihoods depend on tea, have also created tea-infused dishes for visitors. They show the confidence that man and nature will continue to thrive in the future.
