Bangladeshis mourn death of 1st female PM

Begum Khaleda Zia, former Bangladeshi Prime Minister and Chairperson of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), passed away on December 30 local time. She was 80. Thousands of BNP supporters gathered in the street in Dhaka to show their respect for her.

Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lin Jian said that Ms. Khaleda Zia had long been committed to China-Bangladesh friendship, and her important contribution to promoting the bilateral friendship and relationship will forever be remembered.
