When it comes to Yunnan and Indonesia, tourists will think of mountainous terrains and maritime landscapes. Yunnan mountains have dreamy rice fields carved onto their waist, while Indonesian islands are dotted by erupting volcanoes. Which one do you prefer?

Typical Yunnan landscapes

Three Parallel Rivers of Yunnan Protected Area

It lies in northwest Yunnan, where the Jinsha, Lancang and Nujiang rivers rush side-by-side for 170 kilometers. Here, snowy peaks are coupled with deep canyons, the meadows feel like a carpet, the Danxia landform is rich in colors... The area also features a high degree of biodiversity.

South China Karst—the Stone Forest

A 270-million-year geological evolution carved this karst wonder in Yunnan’s Shilin county. Visitors to the scenic area are impressed by the sword-like stone pinnacles and labyrinth-like karst caves.

Dazzling Indonesian parks

Komodo National Park

Located on a volcanic island, the park houses some 5,700 giant lizards, and they hold key to the food chain. It has beautiful beaches, coral reefs and savannas—like a Jurassic park.

Lorentz National Park

Here, snow peaks, rain forests and wetlands thrive together. Fossil sites in the park reveal evolution of the New Guinean life forms.

Ujung Kulon National Park

Ujung Kulon is a peninsula in Java with lowland rainforest, coral reefs, beaches and wildlife. Telling evolution of the Krakatoa Volcano, it is the last sanctuary of the endangered Javan rhino and home to many other species.

Tropical Rainforest Sumatra

The site comprises three national parks on the Bukit Barisan range. With a protected area of 2.5 million hectares, it houses thousands of plant species, hundreds of endemic birds, and Sumatran orangutans.

These places are also World Heritages sites. The Yunnan ones allow you to relax at full, and Indonesian ones remind you the “call of the wild”. Do you have the itch to come?
